Air Arabia has launched a new double daily non-stop service between Sharjah International Airport and London Gatwick, expanding the airline’s international network with its first direct link to the UK capital. The inaugural flight departed July 4, 2026.
Strengthening UAE-UK Connectivity
The route adds a direct, budget-friendly option between the UAE and UK, supporting Air Arabia’s continued growth from its Sharjah hub. For travel trade partners, it opens a new low-cost alternative on a route traditionally dominated by full-service carriers.
Launch Ceremonies at Both Ends
Inaugural events were held simultaneously at Sharjah International Airport and London Gatwick. The Sharjah ceremony was attended by Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Airport Authority, and Sheikh Faisal bin Saud Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA), alongside representatives from the British Embassy in the UAE and Air Arabia’s senior leadership — underscoring the route’s role in deepening trade, tourism, and economic ties between the two countries.
Aircraft and Onboard Experience
The London Gatwick service is operated using Air Arabia’s Airbus A321neo LR, an extended-range aircraft built for long, thin routes, offering improved fuel efficiency alongside enhanced passenger comfort.
Air Arabia’s fleet is composed entirely of Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft. Passengers on the route can access:

- Air Rewards – the airline’s loyalty program, which it positions as one of the most generous in the region
