Monsoon weather has triggered widespread flight delays across Pakistan, disrupting operations at major airports in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Multan, Peshawar, Sialkot, and Faisalabad. Some flights faced delays of up to 15 hours.
Delays by Airport
Islamabad recorded the highest disruption, with 18 flights affected, followed by:
- Lahore: 13 flights
- Karachi: 12 flights
- Multan: 6 flights
- Peshawar: 5 flights
- Sialkot: 5 flights
- Faisalabad: 3 flights
Most Affected Services
Among the worst-hit flights, PIA’s PK-741 (Jeddah–Islamabad) was delayed by roughly 15 hours, while PK-714 (Madinah–Islamabad) faced an 11-hour delay.
On the AirSial network, PA-216 and PA-217 (Islamabad–Dubai) were delayed around five hours, while PA-210 on the same route saw a 13-hour delay. Five flights between Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sialkot were delayed by up to three hours, and PA-406 (Karachi–Lahore), along with Islamabad-bound PA-201 and 9P679, were delayed roughly four hours each.
Ongoing Monsoon Conditions
The disruption comes amid continued monsoon activity nationwide. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has repeatedly warned of rain, thunderstorms, and isolated heavy downpours across Islamabad, Punjab, and other regions. Adverse weather has previously caused similar widespread disruption across Pakistan’s aviation network.

Passengers flying from affected airports are advised to confirm flight status directly with their airline before departing for the airport, as weather conditions can lead to further delays, cancellations, or schedule changes.
Why Sialkot and Islamabad Matter Most
The disruption carries particular weight for Islamabad and Sialkot, both key hubs for domestic and international traffic. Sialkot International Airport, located near Sambrial, operates international routes to the Gulf and Saudi Arabia — making delays there especially disruptive for expatriate and religious travel corridors.
