Travelport Pakistan and Etihad Airways held a joint workshop session in Lahore, bringing together travel trade professionals for a session focused on business, customer, and NDC-related topics.
The workshop spanned several practical areas for day-to-day agency operations, including the Etihad Hub, Live Chat, Branded Fares, New Destinations, and the Library of Policies, alongside a detailed briefing on how the Etihad Hub supports comprehensive customer solutions. Representing Etihad Airways, the session was delivered by Muhammad Kamran Jamil and Ahsan Raza, both Sales Account Managers.
From Travelport Pakistan, Ashi Saleem, Assistant Manager Vendor & Trainer, led a dedicated session on EY-NDC topics — specifically Involuntary Exchange, Refunds, and Voids — in the presence of Khurram Tufail, Sr. Regional Manager, Central Punjab, and Tauqeer Asad Khan, Sales Manager Lahore.
This isn’t a minor technical detail. Etihad holds IATA’s Level 4 NDC certification, one of the highest tiers awarded, meaning the airline supports full-service and order-change capability — not just initial booking — through its NDC channel. Travelport and Etihad also renewed and expanded their NDC content and servicing agreement, extending agents’ access to Etihad’s NDC offers directly through the Travelport+ platform. Sessions like this one on refunds, voids, and involuntary exchanges are where that servicing capability actually becomes usable for agents day-to-day — NDC bookings historically lagged behind traditional GDS bookings in post-ticketing flexibility, so training specifically on these functions helps close that gap in practice.
For Lahore-based agencies working with Etihad through Travelport, this session translates directly into fewer manual workarounds when handling changes or cancellations on NDC-issued tickets — a common pain point as airlines shift more content toward NDC distribution.
