flyadeal, the low-cost carrier of Saudia Group, has launched two weekly flights connecting Madinah and Karachi, expanding its international network between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. The airline inaugurated the route on Sunday, with its first flight arriving in Karachi from Madinah.
The service operates on Airbus A320neo aircraft configured with 186 all-Economy Class seats. Every seat includes USB-A or USB-C charging, and the cabin features Airbus’s “Airspace” interior, with larger overhead bins and mood lighting.
With this launch, Madinah joins Riyadh as the second Saudi city connected to Karachi on flyadeal’s network, bringing the airline’s total Pakistan footprint to seven routes — up from just two when it entered the market roughly a year ago.
That pace is worth putting in context. flyadeal only entered Pakistan in August, launching with Karachi service before rapidly adding Islamabad, Peshawar, and Sialkot within months, then Lahore — its fifth Pakistani destination — in under three months from entry. CEO Steven Greenway has said the airline accelerated its Pakistan rollout beyond original plans due to aircraft availability and stronger-than-expected demand. That expansion has been driven largely by Pakistan’s expatriate community in Saudi Arabia, estimated at over 2.7 million workers, a demand base the airline has explicitly built its value-fare model around.
The Madinah–Karachi route fits into flyadeal’s broader international expansion, which the airline says will more than double its network and fleet by 2030 in line with Saudi Vision 2030. The carrier is also preparing to add Airbus A321neo and its first widebody aircraft, the A330-900neo, from 2027 — a move that would eventually let flyadeal push into longer-haul markets beyond its current short-and-medium-haul model.
For Karachi-based agents, a second low-cost, nonstop Saudi option — alongside Riyadh — gives more flexibility on religious and family travel itineraries, particularly for price-sensitive travelers who’d otherwise route through a Gulf hub or book with a full-service carrier at a higher fare point.
