Green Tourism Pakistan, which operates a growing portfolio of four-star hotels and resorts across the country, has developed two coastal properties in Balochistan — GreenPak BroadBeach Sonmiani and GreenPak Lagoon Gadani. The company recently hosted a familiarization trip for leading travel agents and media representatives to experience the resorts firsthand and assess their potential for leisure and domestic tourism.
Welcome and Site Visit
Guests were welcomed by Muhammad Asad, Hub Manager South, and Mahib Bukhari, Director Brands & Communication, along with other Green Tourism Pakistan team members.
GreenPak BroadBeach Sonmiani
A compact, hilltop resort overlooking the coastline, GreenPak BroadBeach Sonmiani features 12 furnished chalets, each with a double bed, sitting area, kitchenette, air conditioning, and television. Chalets accommodate two to six guests, with extra mattresses available on request. Guests can choose between day-trip packages and overnight stays, and a cart service transports guests between the resort and the beach. The property also offers a well-equipped kitchen serving fresh meals and snacks.
GreenPak Lagoon Gadani
A larger, more developed property, GreenPak Lagoon Gadani offers a full reception lobby and dining area, with single- and double-storey sea-view chalets. Rooms are modern, air-conditioned, and suited to families, couples, and groups. The resort also includes a private, secure beach area, a family-friendly restaurant, room service, and free parking.
Both properties sit roughly 50 kilometers from Karachi, around a 1–1.5 hour drive — positioning them squarely as weekend or day-trip destinations for the city’s market.
Why This Coastline Matters
Sonmiani Bay isn’t just a scenic backdrop — it’s a designated Ramsar wetland site and part of WWF’s Global 200 ecoregions, hosting over 350 fish species and drawing more than 20,000 migratory birds each winter. That ecological profile gives Green Tourism Pakistan’s “sustainable tourism” positioning real substance here, and it’s also a detail agencies can use to differentiate these properties for eco-conscious or birdwatching-interested travelers, not just standard beach-holiday buyers.
It’s also worth noting for trade planning purposes: parts of Balochistan’s coastline near naval or government installations require advance permission to access, a pattern common across the province’s beaches. Green Tourism Pakistan’s developed properties sidestep that friction by offering fully accessible, resort-managed beach areas — a meaningful convenience difference compared to some of the more informal beach spots nearby.
Part of a Larger Portfolio
Green Tourism Pakistan operates as a sustainable tourism and eco-hospitality company with properties spanning Pakistan’s mountains, valleys, and now coastline, including GreenPak Hotel Hunza, GreenPak Resort Kalam, and GreenPak Hotel Ayubia.
The Bigger Picture
Balochistan’s coastline remains largely undeveloped as a mainstream tourism destination. With improved infrastructure, responsible tourism practices, and effective promotion, Green Tourism Pakistan’s investment in Sonmiani and Gadani could help position these areas as accessible, sustainable alternatives to Karachi’s more crowded urban beaches — a shift already visible in rising local tourist numbers reported at both sites in recent months.
